How to Subscribe to an RSS Feed

Many mobile, tablet, and desktop systems provide a rss feed reader client as part of their operating systems. Below is a selected set of instructions for subscribing to a feed. However, a web search will provide other alternative ways to read an RSS Feed.

Browser-based RSS Feed Readers

The easiest way to subscribe is to use a web-based provider. Consider any of the following web sites to read rss feeds:

Subscribe to an RSS feed from Microsoft Outlook

  1. In Outlook, right-click the RSS Feeds folder (Outlook 2013) or the RSS Subscriptions folder (Outlook 2016) and select Add a New RSS Feed.
  2. In the New RSS Feed dialog box, enter the URL of the RSS Feed. For example, http://www.example.com/feed/main.xml.

Tip Right-click the RSS icon, and then copy the shortcut to the Clipboard. Press Ctrl+V to paste the information from the Clipboard into the RSS Feed location box.
  3. Click Add
  4. Click OK
  5. To read a subscribed RSS Feed in Outlook 2013, visit Read RSS Feeds.
